    With the natural progressive advancement of the industries there is no enterprise that has made a more prominent feature in this city during the past few years than the beer business conducted by the young and enterprising merchant, George Meyer. His establishment has been known to be the largest of its kind in the south for past years. The annual business has been largely on the increase. The name of "Faust" beer is now a household word, and everyone calls for it at the saloons. The untiring energy and business capacity of Mr. Meyer has established the most successful distributing depot of the Anheuser-Busch company in the United States. Mr. Meyer has worked diligently at his business, amid opposition of the strongest kind, but by his indomitable pluck, good management and honest dealings, coupled with the celebrated beverages he represents, he has not only sustained the high reputation of the great brewery, but has increased the business to enormous proportions, and has recently become prominent in a home industry, which is far surpassing the expectations of all the stockholders. It is the P. H. Wolters Brewing Company. They manufacture a beverage which is destined to take the place of every beer in the south. Their special brand is the "Meyer Beer," named after the president. It is called for by all lovers of a good glass of the popular beverage.
   One of the most enterprising features of this brewery is the introduction of the new invention, the crown cork bottles. They are revolution in bottled beer; no more wire fastenings, no no more troublesome corkscrews and hard exertions; they are simple and complete. Any lady can remove the cork without trouble and secure the delicious Meyer beer. This industry is worthy the enterprise of this company of which Mr. George Meyer is the president. They employ about sixty-five men in the establishment.
  The operations of this brewery are conducted on a large scale, and should be seen by the public, who appreciate its magnitude.
   All visitors to Savannah during Merchants' week are cordially invited to call at the brewery and test the fine qualities of its production.

The Fine Beverage Which is Popular Everywhere.

The great popularity of the amber-hued beverage of the "faderland" among all classes and nationalities is the best evidence of its generous appreciation and its ability to fill the wants of the public for a health-giving and invigorating drink. In Germany, where for centuries the knowledge and practice of brewing lager beer has descended from generation to generation, it is held in the highest estimation by the people and is regarded as an indispensable adjunct to the every-day wants of all classes of society.
    Notwithstanding the fact that the first knowledge of the brewing of beer had its inception in the principalities of the old world, it has been left to America the honor of having perfected and improved its standard to the high grade of excellence. There are many mammoth brewing establishments throughout different parts of the country, but in the south the Savannah Brewing Company stands far in the lead as being both the most extensive in the magnitude of its operations and the excellence of their manufacture.
    The Savannah brewery is situated on West Boundary and Indian streets, where they manufacture their excellent beer.. the beer of the Savannah Brewing Company is steadily growing in popularity, and the demand in the city is enormous. Besides the large quantity of beer sold in kegs and half barrels, they have several special brands of excellent beer, which is steamed for export.
    The annual output of the Savannah brewery is 50,000 barrels.
    There is not a saloon or grocery in Savannah where the Savannah beer cannot be found, Everybody drinks it and likes it.
    The officers and stockholders of the company are influential business men of the city and are closely identified with the business interests of the city. The following are the officers: Jacob Rauers, president; Isaac Minis, vice president; Rudolph Anderson, secretary; W. W. Starr is general manager and treasurer, under whose direction the business has greatly increase.
